Hel

Hel is the Goddess that presides over the dead in Niflheim and the daughter of the trickster God Loki. According to what books I have read, her body was half-way healthy and halfway sickly and black and generally a morose person. Niflheim is located under the world tree Yggdrasil where Nidhogg chews at the roots of the tree and eats the souls of the wicked.
